I've had amazing experiences on these exchanges before, so I was really excited for the music exchange. I love music, it's a huge part of my life, if I'm not listening to it either I'm singing or I have a song stuck in my head. A while ago I discovered that one of my great-grandfathers was an accordion player, and since then I've been researching it because I think it might be an instrument for me. I had recently decided to take up the concertina first, to give it a try, before maybe moving on to pricier and more difficult melodeons and other diatonic accordions. I had even found a good store in my country, and just last week I had decided that whenever I'd get the chance to go to that city, I'd try out their concertinas and possibly buy one.
I was surprised when I opened the door the other morning and saw the delivery man with a big heavy box. My first thought (it was early morning) was that this was definitely too big for a CD :') Then when I saw that the box came from that specific store that I'd had my eye on... I still couldn't believe it at that stage. Even when I saw the box I figured maybe they gave me a nice box for my future accordion? And then I opened it, and I gasped like I thought they only do in books/movies: a real concertina, beautifully made - the exact one I had my eye on!! I finally got the chance yesterday to play it a bit, I love it, it sounds so good! The cat was not amused by the sound, but it'll grow on him (or not, but he won't have a choice in the matter).
I blabbered a lot in my preferences so I can't remember what exactly I wrote in relation to accordions, but I don't think it was that much, I focused more on what I expected to receive due to the budget of these exchanges. I am amazed at how my rematch gifter somehow read between the lines that this was exactly the perfect present for me - you truly are a talented and very perceptive person, as well as a greatly generous one. I am eternally grateful for this amazing present, I love it, I will cherish it and learn to make beautiful music with it (I hope anyway!) Thanks a million!
