ImjastvNov 9, 2023When I wrote my preferences, I gave options with multiple level of difficulties because I am aware that some of my musical choices are a bit niche and as a result, hard to find. Of course, my gifter went with the most difficult option!
I may have screamed a little when I found out that not only they found vinyls from my favourite 1980s folk Scottish band (Ossian - truly amazing, listen to them if you like folk music/classical music), but they found two of them, plus one from the singer and harpist's solo career! And when I say these albums are hard to find, I am not lying, so I suspect that my gifter has magical powers.
They truly went over and beyond - they got someone to extract the digital files from the vinyls and sent them on a memory stick with the gift! I had been able to listen to two of these albums in the past, but the third one (The Misty Mountain) was nowhere to be found digitally, so I had sadly resigned myself to wait until I could get my hand on a vinyl player and on a copy of that very very rare album. You can guess the first thing I did when I plugged in that USB key with the digital files on my computer :'D And it is as good as I imagined!
My gifter also included albums by a band in which their family member is playing because it fits the musical style I like so I am very psyched to listen to it and make a new musical discovery! Plus they added recommendations of other bands to listen to, so it seems like I will have a very musical week listening to all this new music. Last but not least, they added some teas for me to try, so I am planning an afternoon of music listening and tea drinking over the weekend!
