Here's some (okay probably too much) info about me. I'm an open book, and I'm happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
I'm a writer, working on my first (second, and third) novel(s) while living in a house in the Chicago suburbs with my husband, our baby (We call him Stormageddon online), and the most spoiled dog on the planet, Lady Nymeria Stark - we call her Nia.
I'm an improviser and occasional background actor. I perform in a house team at my local theater, Westside Improv. I was also studying musical improv at Second City prior to the pandemic and hope to resume that once my class is available again.
I'm a Disney fanatic (I'm a Walt Disney World annual passholder, even though I live in Chicago). I love anything Disney and Disney-adjacent (Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, etc). Big fan of Chip and Dale, Cheshire Cat, and Mickey Mouse, and anything Disney Parks.
I'm currently trying to improve my carbon footprint and focusing on ways I can help the environment, starting with small changes like not using single-use plastics and thrifting a lot of my clothes. I love shopping local and small. It's amazing how many beautiful and creative small batch pieces of clothing/art/decor/accessories/seasonings/spices/sauces/etc there are!
I love holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. When I decorate my house, I go all out. We usually host big parties for each, and I just love spending time with family and friends all year long.
I love crafting. I'm big into paper crafts (card-making, junk journaling, decorating vintage Bingo cards), but I also love making wreaths, playing with paint, and occasional jewelrymaking.
I'm a voracious reader: I love fantasy, fairy tales, women's fiction, rom coms, non-fiction, and thrillers. Recent books I've loved include The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, Darling Girl, Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Verity, and Broken by Jenny Lawson.
I love to cook, but I'm a terrible baker. I much prefer coming up with measurement-free creative meals and appetizers than following recipes to a tee. I love trying new and interesting spices, seasonings, oils, and other condiments.
A few things to avoid: My husband has asked that you don't send anything with glitter. I try to stay away from food and beverages with high fructose corn syrup, as it gives me headaches. We also don't have a DVD player (I know, we're weirdos, but we stream everything), so movies are unnecessary.
