My Santa went above and beyond. The thoughtfulness is off the charts. I mentioned that I got another amazing gift this year (2 months ago today!); a kidney transplant. Santa took that information and really ran with it for me.

Gift #1 - A green ribbon bracelet which I've worn every day since I received it. It represents many diseases, but Santa did their research and knew it also represents kidney disease and kidney cancer awareness. I love it so much!

Gift #2 - An item off my wish list that I'd been wanting for a while. It's a comfy double hooded top in a color I really like, Cyan. I basically wore it as soon as I could. :)

Gift #3 - Somehow without me even saying so, my Santa KNEW that I am always freezing. This is the one issue where my husband and I are complete opposites. When I was still on dialysis, every night when I did my treatment I would need to be covered up with a heated throw, and two or three additional blankets in addition to the sheet and quilt already on the bed (I did dialysis while sleeping). One day the cord to the heated throw broke and so I caved and bought a heated mattress pad(which was amazing, highly recommend). Within two months of buying it, I got my kidney and that allowed me to fulfill my dream of owning a "big girl/big boy" king size bed once the dialysis equipment was taken away. I did it, but I ended up losing the ability to use the heated mattress pad because it doesn't fit now! I thought without doing dialysis I would be warm enough without it, but nope. I'm warmER, but still get cold and need something extra. I lost about 80 lbs since last year (weight loss surgery to give my future kidney the best chance possible, talk about timing though) and basically I have been freezing ever since! I lost my insulation! I started working from home in March and my son's old bedroom became my office. While I'm working in here every day, I keep the heat on in the upper 70s. Over the summer, I was still wearing sweatshirts and no AC on in here, no exaggeration. I usually have a hoodie on, and a blanket over my lap. I guess in my long winded explanation I'm trying to say this gift will be well used and appreciated. I'm in love with this awesome throw and I cannot wait to use it (I just got it about 10 minutes ago so it needs a wash first). I guarantee my cat Rosie is going to try to steal if I leave it unattended.

Gift #4, and perhaps the most touching is that Santa made a donation to the American Kidney Fund in my honor. The AKF has been helping me with insurance premiums over the last year so it means so much to me that you would do this for me and all of the kidney patients out there that need that little bit of extra help. <3
