Hi, Santa! I'm a writer and a musician. I'd love a sweet, thoughtful gift that gives me those warm happy fuzzies! So I'm just going to list a bunch of random stuff I love and do below, so you can get a good idea who I am! (Also, I hope this goes without saying, I'm just listing a ton of stuff but like, I don't expect all of it- I've had giftees give me very little to go on before so I tend to air on the side of caution and go more overboard).
In the mornings I walk my dog and say good morning to my hamster, whose name is Hamchop Sir Fluffington, or Ham for short. I have a red office where my guitars, laptop, record player, keyboard, and violin are- I'm learning violin, my desk is littered with letters from penpals (I love receiving letters!), and I have a big white board on one side of the room where I'm plotting my novel. I'm almost done with it, and hoping to query it soon! My dog is spoiled rotten, but she's so gentle and sweet, how can I not? (That's her as my profile picture! she was having an allergic reaction so we had to wrap her feet with little bandages, that's why we took a photo of her like that because it was just so cute!) I have an insane amount of books on ceiling-to-floor bookshelves downstairs. I've read maybe half of them, but if I can get through my entire collection in the next five years, I'll consider it an accomplishment. When I'm old and grey, I want to retire as a librarian. Then again I hate the Dewey decimal system so maybe not.
I used to live at my desk because I wrote scripts for about 60 hours a week. A couple of months ago my boss cut my pay and workload in half with no forewarning, and she cited two year old spelling errors I made that affected less than 0.5% of my work. Turns out, she just wanted to hire more cheap labor- the channel is already suffering because of it so I'm applying for new jobs, hoping to find a way to jump off this sinking ship. (The turnaround is getting to be pretty nasty, and she's frequently called my and my colleagues 'disposable' and 'replaceable'.) So something that alleviates my constant anxiety about work stability would be nice lol.
I love soundtrack vinyls. I listen to records sometimes when I write my book, but it can't have lyrics or else I get too distracted. Soundtracks are good though, beautiful piano pieces. Sorry I guess that was random after my last paragraph.
I feel like that's me summed up in a nutshell. Hot cocoa, vinyls, books, writing, playing violin (poorly)....if you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Also, I do like receiving but not shopping for clothes, my style is 'dark academia' (in case that wasn't obvious), and I'm a size small shirt, size 2 in pants/skirts. I hope you don't feel overwhelmed! Anything you get I'm sure will be lovely!
