40 something ESL teacher. Recent college graduate (again). Twenty+ years as a licensed esthetician, massage therapist, and instructor. Huge fan of Indycar (Rossi and Power I cheer for the loudest). Artsy crafty nerd. Collector of various dolls, especially Integrity (Poppy Parker, NUFace, E. 59th etc). Slight stationary obsession (pens, washi, journals but I am super stocked up at the moment thanks to lovely gifters). Classic cinema adoration a’plenty. Pre-code films through French New Wave. Gene Kelly is numero uno, but also can’t turn down Cary Grant or a Hitchcock flick. As for more modern films, I very much enjoy Wes Anderson, with The Royal Tenenbaums remaining my favorite. A forever fondness for the original Frasier, but also enjoy detective dramas like Shetland or Endeavour. As far as classic tv you can’t go wrong with The Dick Van Dyke Show or Bob Newhart. Eternal fondness for Muppets. Music is Depeche Mode (and the ilk), plus a whole lot of bands that were big when I was much younger (Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone for starters). My brain still thinks it’s 1994 which is sad and pathetic (joking). Analog kid living in a digital world or so the story goes. Reading is important to me and I tend to enjoy history, non fiction, or historical fiction. Yes I really am this boring. In the summers I have a massive vegetable garden and it brings me great joy. I don’t know what else to say. There’s a good chance I’m old enough to be your mom. How the heck did that happen?
