It was extremely bittersweet to receive my gift this year. I have been doing Secret Santa every year since 2013, and it is one of the highlights of my holiday season. December just won't be the same without it! I am glad that for my last gift, I got to go out with a bang!

My Secret Santa messaged me asking about several of my hobbies, presumably as a smokescreen so I would not know what I should expect. I was surprised and delighted when my package arrived, and inside it was...a little of everything!

First, I have been trying so hard to get into learning to sew. I have a machine I have been experimenting with, but it is so hard to know where to start. So my Santa gave me a starting point! I received a beginner's book on how to learn to sew, and it looks super approachable and engaging. I cannot wait to dig in and hone some new skills. I also received an adorable pattern set to make some Harry Potter pillows, as a simple starter project! I think I will make pouty Hedwig first. (#TransRights <3)

My Santa also threw in a few accessories for resin casting too! I have been making resin elements for my jewelrymaking, and I mentioned I have a relatively involved resin project planned. I received a mold with some really pretty cabochon shapes that I will most definitely use, along with some metal mixing sticks! I'm excited about those, as up until now I've only been using toothpicks, and they are...less than effective.

Next up, my Santa outdid themself with some new tools for hiking and camping. First, I got some very nice hiking socks that I specifically requested. I'm really looking forward to having proper footwear under my boots for once. I also got a super cool magnesium firestarter! I've been admiring these for years but could never truly justify getting one ("we'll just bring a lighter") so I am VERY excited for my next campfire. And to go with it, I got a telescoping toasting fork for marshmallows! I can toast two at a time for maximum s'more action. And lastly, cherry on top of the camping gifts, was a KNIFE. This is another item I have been wanting for a long time, but had not done the research or legwork to pick one. Buying a knife is intimidating! My Santa chose a fixed blade knife that they recommended, and I am delighted to have one at last for all my outdoor adventures!

And last, but definitely not least, is my new friend...a brand new Pokemon plushie. I collect many many plushies, and my Santa chose one that they said they thought was cute. And they are correct! My new buddy Houndour is a real cutie, and I love him. I introduced him to two of my plushies, my Eevees, who were at first a bit intimidated. But with another dark type Pokemon to act as a chaperone, the Eevees quickly warmed up to Houndour and welcomed him into the family!

Thank you so much, Santa, for all you have done. You have given me more than just craft supplies and camping gear. You gave me a very special Secret Santa finale, and I will always treasure it!
