First of all - thank you so much santa! I can tell it's been a bit of a rough path for you during this exchange, since your gift was ordered pretty early but took almost two weeks for them to ship it out XD Absolutely no hard feelings though! Amazon has done that to me in the past as well and it's very annoying when it happens because you can't really do anything about it. If anything, it just became more exciting to see what would arrive! I hope you didn't have to go through much trouble <3

Before I received my gift, my santa sent me a message, excited that I was very into music! They wanted to know if they could send me something to explore one of the biggest artists from their country, an artist that is very popular among the LGBTQ community and similar to what can be heard at Eurovision. I love exploring new music, so of course I said yes!

Today I received a vinyl by Mylene Farmer (an artist I personally have never heard of), and her album called "Anamorphosée" from 1995. I really like French songs so this is starting off great!

When I was listening to the first song, I immediately started thinking of the artist Alizée, which is an artist I haven't explored very much, but I'm a big fan of some of her songs (À cause de l'automne, Moi Lolita, J'en ai marre, Blonde). When I looked Mylene up, it turns out she actually wrote some songs for Alizée, including two of the ones I mentioned! This was such a nice surprise and I had never known that if I didn't enter this exchange!

Anyway, when the second song came on, it went into rock, which surprised me! The third song felt a bit more like the first song, so it became apparent to me that this album is going to switch in music styles. This something that my santa wrote, she tends to switch up her music style from time to time, and I like that! Versatility in music is something you find quite rarely in mainstream artists nowadays. Many artists like to make the same kind of songs because it's what they became famous with.

The album has that signature 90s sound - the instruments sound real and the songs sound a little bit dreamy and mysterious. I feel nostalgic when I listen to it, even though I've never heard these songs before! I liked almost all the songs - the only song I wasn't a very big fan of was "Alice". I can totally see myself listening to this album in the future, it's good music to have on in the background! This will make a very fine addition to my vinyl collection, thank you again!
