Wow! In one word … wow! That sums up this package!
For the All Hallows Day exchange, I had the most wonderful Santa! From beginning to end, this gift was amazing.
Just starting with the exterior, I knew I was in for something unique. My shipping box was covered in Halloween stickers. But those stickers didn’t even hint at how spectacular the contents would be.
Once opened, I was greeted with a fully decorated box interior, a Happy Halloween note card, and a bunch of black, white and purple silk petals. Going in blind, since everything was buried in petals, I reached in deeper, pulling out … a bone?! And another? And another!! Lol! I felt like a voodoo priestess collecting her supplies for hex casting.
Then my hand landed on a can. A “terrifying ghost in a can”, to be exact. I removed the can from its ziplock storage bag, and began collecting all the silk petals - no simple task, this took longer than I would have expected. But it did force me to slow down the experience, which I actually appreciated since I don’t often have reason to savor the moment in life.
With the petals aside, I was able to now take in the full contents of the box. There was candy (some even in a cute little wooden crate), fuzzy brown tarantulas, more bones, the ghost can and accompanying kodamas, a healthy stack of Halloween ephemera (this Midwestern girl particularly liked the frog card, as it mentions Baraboo WI - I highly suggest you research that town if not familiar), and three mystery packages … one incredibly wrapped and sealed with a wax stamp!
I slowly opened the wax stamped package first, trying to avoid damaging the presentation. Inside was some spooky reading and a packet of tea - perfect for huddling up inside during this cooling fall weather.
Taking care to open the next item, as it was tucked inside multiple layers of foam and bubble wrap, I discovered a tiny cloche. I immediately raced it over to place in my apothecary display. I wanted to avoid risking damaging it by accident, since it looks incredibly fragile and ornate.
Finally I opened my favorite part … a custom created art card by Santa themselves. As you can see in my Halloween mantle display, I have a few similar scale artworks so it fits in wonderfully. I intend to find a coordinated frame (to the other items) for this card. During the interim I have tucked the card, in its special storage case, beneath the hand of my Vampire Undertaker. He is holding it steady and upright for now.
This entire package was so superbly done. I can’t even begin to know how to thank my Santa. So all I can say is … thank you! You made my Halloween special!
