My gifter sent me these books: Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl. I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou. The House on Mango Street, by Sandra Cisneros.

Three female, one Jewish, one Black, one Hispanic. I'm angry that certain individuals and organizations from among the dominant groups. desperate to hold onto their dominance, are now working so hard to silence "our" voices, those of us living on the periphery, by banning our work. I know that it's not just "our" work that under fire--there was The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier, my favorite novel. However, it's harder for marginalized people to get our voices heard. Let's not make it even harder, please. Without all our voices, the human story is incomplete.

My gifter sent these twice, the first delivery lost and presumed stolen. My gifter got a refund and re-sent them. Thank you, Gifter, for your persistence and your dedication!
