Today upon my return from my work Christmas party, I was greeted with a number of packages at my door. One was from my Secret Santa and said "Gift Inside" on the outside of the package. Opening it, I was not disappointed. My santa found for me three of my most desired items for Christmas!

I got the 50th Anniversary Special of Doctor Who -- which is SO awesome not only because it's the next Doctor Who episode in the chronology for me to own, but also because it included cards detailing 12 of the doctors which assemble to make a picture! That was fun stuff! I look forward to rewatching this special (which I originally watched in a theatre) when I get to that point in my blu-ray rewatch of Doctor Who!

And I got The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer! Which is a book that I have wanted for MONTHS now and have heard such great things about it that I've even blogged about some of the concepts within it purely based on the YouTube videos of her book tour. Quite honestly this was the perfect gift: a book that I've wanted so very much for so many reasons!

Finally I opened the one wrapped gift within the Amazon box and was pleased to receive one of the 4 remaining IDW Doctor Who comic book trades that I did not previously own! Now there only remain 3 books to acquire (and hopefully I shall!). This comic book features both my favourite doctor and my favourite companion and so I really look forward to reading it (though it may have to wait until I acquire the other three remaining comic books, we shall see). I'm a bit uncertain about the cryptic message enclosed saying "you'll soon find out why there's just one gift that is wrapped", but I really do love this gift!

Thank you so much Santa for going above and beyond my expectations this year! I am very pleased with what I did indeed receive! You're outstanding!
