Hi there! I came to Givin Gifts after the sunsetting of Redditgifts which was originally the reason why I joined Reddit. Now, my favorite communities to interact with on Reddit are r/randomactsofcards and r/reactivedogs. Speaking of dogs, one highlight of the COVID-19 pandemic was adding 2 chiweenies - Bailey & Jefferson (5 & 3-year-old females respectively) to the family! Of course, being shelter doggies they come with additional baggage hence my active involvement w/ r/reactivedogs but slowly and surely we are making improvements. Earlier this year, I started fostering w/ local animal groups and 2 kitties (Peter & Rocky < 1-year-old males) foster failed and now I have also joined the family! We all love traveling especially road-tripping and luckily no one (human or animal) gets car sick! Something on my bucket list would be to travel internationally with my pets, at least the doggies. Currently, we are working on becoming good canine citizens for the puppers and learning how to walk on a leash for the kitties.

When I am not petting (cleaning up after really) these four-legged family members, I absolutely enjoy writing postcards (stamps are always appreciated!), reading (anything except science fiction), brewing coffee & tea (caffeine fuels my days), gardening (herbs/vegetables and ornamental), composting (attempting to limit my carbon footprint as much as possible), learning something new every day, and advocating for science (National Science Policy Network). My new year resolutions this year are to learn photography, knitting, calligraphy, and copywriting! I am always in awe of tiktok content creators - especially ones that make channels for their pets (the creativity!) and would love to know your favorite tiktok, subreddit, books, etc. I am more of a TV series rather than a movie person; its something about episodes that keeps me focused. I have yet to watch Game of Thrones, really any of the Marvel / Superhero universe movies, StarTrek, etc. My favorite series are Brooklyn 99, House, and Criminal Minds. I recently started watching Monk and I absolutely love it!
