I am older, like tea, cookies, rock&roll music, old movies (Charlie Chaplin is the movie verson of a family patron saint), crochet (sweaters in jewel-tone colors), woodsy scented candles, cooking & baking, drinking my tea out of a pint stein (lidless) as I bingewatch trashy series. Anime is fun (but I am really picky!) & visuals like Studio Ghibli are the best. Read Sci-Fi & Fantasy, love authors like Charles de Lint, Jack Finney, Thorne Smith, JK Rowling in all of her pseudonyms, Douglas Smith...Favorite artist is Charles Vess. If I am drinking coffee there's a nip (or more!) of something sweet like Baileys or Ammoretto in it. Love teal & purple (yarns) & adore reclaimed silk (Darn Good Yarns brand). I buy my pyrex at garage sales & stoneware steins at antique stores, where discovery is half of the joy. I garden, love orchids and hybiscus indoors, tomatos & bulbs outdoors. Broadway is wonderful, musicals or plays. My favorite non-seasonal holiday is a Holy Day in August called Theophany because we Orthodox Christians bless fruit, which is fun. I am odd, I know it, but Madeleine L'engle once told me that growing old means you can express yourself & after you reach 50, everyone just assumes you're eccentric so you can dress as you please and do as you please. She died before I got there, but she was right.
