Hi! I'm Samuel (male), 25 year-old graduate student living in Ithaca, NY (a big collegetown). I'm an international student from Asia. I joined Secret Santa on Reddit in 2020 and had a blast, so I’m doing it again. I study Political Science / International Relations and am mostly working from home these days, but I drop by my university office from time to time. I also teach as a TA. I do a lot of quantitative data analysis and programming (R) in my work.

My hobbies:

• acoustic guitar (I learned how to play before I came to the US, but stopped playing since I didn't have a guitar. Just got a cheap guitar off Craigslist and started playing again!)
• I like reading about and learning cryptography. Solving puzzles and thinking about solutions to problems is my jam (kind of explains why I am a graduate student)
• playing skyrim on my xbox series S
• I do a lot of traveling around Asia and Europe and I religiously collect postcards everywhere I go. I like sending postcards to myself. COVID killed this hobby but I'm definitely traveling again in the next year.
• I am exceptionally bad at drawing / arts in general. If you send me something related, make sure it's really beginner level.

I am hoping to get something to kill some time with. Because of COVID I'm having trouble going back to my hometown, so I'll be staying in the US for quite a while. But feel free to send me any gifts you think would make sense. I am grateful for anything.
