I enjoy learning to do certain things the “hard” way – it is not enough to improve my penmanship; I also started learning pointed pen and broad-edge calligraphy. I am pretty proud of the bread and pizza I can make with my own dough and I occasionally make my own cheese (mostly just simple stuff like fresh cheddar cheese curds, though I'd like to improve my setup for affinage). I have spent an inordinate amount of time customizing my Calibre library to manage all my ebooks and even writing a bit of code here and there to extend it.

My main uses for pens are for keeping journals, which help me to be more mindful and present. Mainly I keep one personal one for my daily life and another one for my work life, but occasionally I will start small, dedicated ones for a certain video game I am playing or book I am reading. I would like to get more into illustration, just for the sake of improving myself and developing a new hobby I will enjoy, and also for the sake of using up all this ink I've somehow accrued, e.g. by learning ink-and-wash techniques. :)
