Hi,

I’m Johannes, 26, originally from Hannover, Germany. I speak German, English and a bit of Spanish. Currently I am living and studying in Munich and take my Master of Science in Computer Science with a focus on IT Security at the Technical University of Munich.

Therefore I often spend my freetime in this topic, whether it’s programming, competing in capture the flag events, or playing around with tech. I love doing DIY-projects with a Raspberry Pi or microcontrollers. In spring, I built a birdhouse with a camera so that I could watch birds raising their young. I also have a 3D Printer (Anycubig Mega S), which helps my with my DIY projects and in everyday life.

As a balance to my studies, I discovered photography for myself. I got stuck in film photography with old analog cameras. I own a Canon A1 and Mamiya RB67. When I have fed up with all of this digital stuff and need to clear my mind, I love to go out with my cameras and enjoy the beautiful nature, e.g. the alps. I already develop black and white films myself, and I would like to develop color films myself in the future.

My second passion is ice hockey. I am a big fan of my home team, the Hannover Indians (third German league). When I lived in Hannover, I had many years a season ticket and even now I try to go to the games as often as possible when I visit my family in Hannover. I also regularly follow the games of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Unfortunately, I have never played hockey myself, but I would love to give it a try. Besides that I like to play tennis and soccer. Since 2022 I also go 2-3 times a week in the gym.

Another hobby is gaming, I actually like to play all genres, but most time I play shooters (especially on PC). I play on the PC, I also have an XBOX One at my parents' house, and I have a Nintendo Switch. However, particularly atmospheric games on the Switch like Zelda BoTW captured my gaming heart.

During the pandemic, I got into baking, particularly sourdough bread and Neapolitan-style pizza, and even invested in an Ooni pizza oven. Besides Baking i also love Cooking (specially BBQ).

I love trying new activities from time to time. On my TODO list right now are things like learning lockpicking (inspired by my IT security background), getting a sailing license and experimenting with amateur radio tech.

From time to time I like to play board games with my family, I especially like simpler games without many complicated rules. ;D I also like Escape Rooms and Escape Room games, I have already played some Kosmos Exit games and the first case (1. Fall) of the Hidden Games series.

My favorite tv series and movies include Mr. Robot, Dark, 4 Blocks, GoT and Inception. Regarding music I also listen to many different genres, but mainly German and American hip hop. I'm also a big fan of the radio play series "Die drei Fragezeichen" (if you're German, you probably know them).
