Profile

• How long have you been using fountain pens? 2015.

• What do you use your fountain pens for? Writing my own stories, journaling about my thoughts and day, solo journaling role playing games. I write so many lists!

• What are you hoping to get out of this exchange? A fun, new experience. The anticipation and excitement of opening a package with unknown goodies inside.

• What are some of your other interests (if not already described in givin.gifts profile)? Movies (Horror, Foreign, Martial Arts, Anime, and Westerns are my favorites). Reading (Horror, Sci-fi, Fantasy, Graphic Novels, Mangas, Audiobooks). Writing (pretty good use for all those fountain pens, inks, and papers). Video Games (Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2, Mother 2, Resident Evil series, Animal Crossing, Yakuza series, The Last of Us, Journey, etc. etc.). Yoga.

• Are you interested in receiving pen(s)? If so, preferred nib, material, feedback, weight, etc.? OR What are your favorite pens and what do you like about them? Hell yeah! I do prefer a medium and broad nib, and I like a girthy section. You know what pen surprised me recently, as I never ever gave them a second look: Kaweco Sports. I loved the Soft Sage color from last year and then BOOM! 3 more Sports joined my collection! However, I’m excited to try something new too!

• Are you interested in receiving ink(s)? If so, preferred colors, desired characteristics like shading/sheen/shimmer, wet/dry, etc.? OR What are your favorite inks and why do you like them? Hell yeah! I love color! I like unique looking inks. I’ve been trying to get Wearingeul’s Wayfarer (Teal being my favorite color) but can never catch it in stock. I do not like finicky inks, like Organic Studio’s Nitrogen (I keep finding little flecks of dried ink when I clean and I got rid of that bottle YEARS ago, lol, like sand it gets everywhere, pretty color and sheen, but sheesh it is a pain!). I like wet and saturated inks (my eyes are aging, and I need to see what I’ve written).

• Are you interested in receiving paper/notebooks? If so, preferred smoothness, paper size, ruling, weight, hardcover/softcover, binding, etc.? Hell yeah! I love paper, too! Binding that allows for lay-flat writing is great. But, there is a lot of nice fountain pen paper out there that I haven’t tried. What I have tried and enjoyed: Original Tomoe River Paper and Sanzen, Clairfontaine, Rhodia.

• Are you interested in receiving nibs and/or pen repair supplies? If so, what in particular? Maybe. I have a vintage that needs a new sac and, I guess, a shellac/glue to attach it and probably some instructions on how to fix a vintage pen sac. But, I’m not really sure I can even do that. Those brass shims are useful, so is micromesh.

• Are you interested in receiving stationery accessories, such as pen cases/rolls, notebook covers, pen-themed stickers/decals, ink swatching cards/stamps, etc.? If so, what in particular? Yeah! Cases and rolls for all the pens. Love themed stickers.

• How would you describe your personal style or aesthetic? Goth, cottage-core, modern, shabby chic, minimalist… Death and rainbows! Lol! Library-chic. Goth and everything that is super cute. Animals drinking tea by a fire? Yes, please! Whimsical. Spooky. October is the best month! Plus, my birthday month. My kid just informed me that I am: Gothic Comfy. And, yeah, that’s me!

• Some people like to include some bonus candies or sweets in the packages. Do you have any food restrictions or allergies your Santa should be aware of? I love treats! Is your area known for some specific treat/snack?

• Please link any “state of the collection” posts or images below for your Santa so they have an idea of your tastes and to avoid repeats. (Post on your reddit user profile, in a Mastodon post, or on a image host like imgur) https://www.reddit.com/r/fountainpens/comments/17n1369/34_in_a_row_my_collection/

• Anything you definitely don't want, or already have too many of? (ink colors, pen models, brands to avoid, etc.) No Noodlers. No Goulet.
