Profile

I'm a college student studying archaeology, and I love gift exchanges! I did reddit gifts for ~ 3 years, and am very excited to be here as well. Outside of school and work, my hobbies are wilderness hiking/backpacking, cooking, fishing, digital art, reading, and listening the worst country music imaginable (according to my friends - I think it's pretty good though!). Of all those hiking and cooking are the biggest - if I'm not currently on trail I'm probably researching and dehydrating meals for my next trip!

Random things you might find useful: Some of my favourite places, in no particular order, are aquariums, amusement parks, the beach, and the mountains! I love being outside and exploring nature, but am also always happy to enjoy the great indoors at a museum. I also LOVE all the tacky shirts they sell at these sorts of places, especially when I haven't actually been there! My staple thing I ask for whenever I did hometowns exchanges on reddit was always t-shirts, and they never let me down. My goal is to have a shirt from all 50 states! In relation to that, my shirt size is a men's small! Or child's XL. Big fan of flannel overshirts as well! For food I'll cook and eat pretty much anything as long as it's meat-free! I love working with fresh produce and am planning to start a small hydroponic garden in my kitchen so I can have access to all my favourite herbs and leafy greens. I've been getting more into baking as well lately, especially bread. I'm always on the hunt for new cookbooks and fun kitchen gadgets! That being said I would appreciate if you didn't send any perishable foods in your gift - I love and appreciate them but I am not a big snacker, and so won't finish anything that isn't shelf/refridgerator stable. Things like jams/preserves, spices, etc, single serving snacks (think kids lunchbox serving-size), or teas are all good though! Especially teas, I just got a single serving tea pot and have been really into trying different loose leaf blends lately. My favourites are earl grey, lemon-ginger, chai, and more broadly any black or herbal teas that don't have a ton of artificial flavours. Not a big fan of green tea or super floral blends though. I am currently based in Oregon and absolutely love it there - after living abroad for a year I can confidently say I never want to live anywhere else again! I do enjoy short-term travel though, especially for hiking. My favourite trip was when I walked the South Island of New Zealand along the Te Araroa track (so much pretty nature!), but vacations in Switzerland, the Australian Outback, and road trips across other parts of the United States are up there as well. I have growing collections of magnets that I'm always looking to add to - my new apartment has a much larger fridge than my old one and I need to start filling it in! I love touristy ones from any sort of location, regardless of if I've actually been there or not. If you find a cool one from your hometown or favourite travel spot I'd love to see it! The tackier the better :) One of my recent hobbies is shortwave radio - I’m working towards getting my ham radio license but for now am just listening in to whatever stations I can find. It’s a great way to get outside and unwind after a long day! My favourite animals are sharks. I prefer used books over new ones!

My Amazon wishlist is linked if you're in need of inspiration, but if possible I would prefer used over new for most items!
