I was having a tough week…and was beyond overtired and going through the packages that were delivered to me (I did much of my shopping online this year) when I saw a package- with my address on it..but addressed to some other person. It was 11:30pm so I set it aside figuring I would call Snapfish the next day and ask them what they wanted me to do with it.

I woke up in the middle of the night and thought..DUH! THAT IS FOR ME!!! My Santa had got in touch with me a few weeks prior and asked to be pointed to any online photo albums I might have. He knew I am an avoid hobbyist photographer and he said he had a wonderful idea that he knew I would love. I was so intrigued and beyond excited!!

The next day as I was about to photograph the package – another arrived! It was addressed to me and I opened it..as I thought it was something I ordered for someone else. Inside was a cool box from Love with Food – the packing slip listed the name of who sent it..which matched my Snapfish package! Not only did I get a box of –some kind of snacks (I have not peeked yet!) but the company’s mission is “For every box sold, we donate a meal to several food banks such as the Feeding America Network and Share Our Strength - No Kid Hungry. Join us to help end child hunger one meal at a time!” Now how incredibly cool is that????

I have the packages next to the tree…and I keep looking at them every time I walk by. I absolutely LOVE wondering what is in them. The build-up of excitement prior to Christmas is just such fun! My kids are so frustrated that I wait to wait to open gifts! 

I will update this with more photos when I open them – Thank you Santa- I know you took so much time putting this together and I really appreciate it!! I am so excited to see what you put together for me!

**** UPDATE **** I am incredibly touched by my Santa's thoughtfulness! The time and effort that was put into my gift is truly amazing!

The snack box was such fun… so many fun treats were packed into this box! My niece was here for Christmas and the cookies with the states and capitols printed on them were such a big hit for her. It got her off her little hand held electronics and brought her back into the mix of people and we played so many rounds of games with the cookies. Everyone LOVED that the company you bought it fron donates a meal to a food bank for every box purchased. That was such a nice way to open a discussion with a 4 year old about giving back.

The box candy was really good. I passed it around and everyone enjoyed it. My Dad was scrutinizing the fine print on the enclosed paper and it said it was BACON chocolate. We were all shocked. We had recently had a discussion about the bacon craze and we all were in agreement that we would never be trying bacon chocolate. SOOO FUNNY. Here we were talking about how your state and capitol cookies were expanding my nieces world..and you slid in there and expanded ours. The chocolates were very good!

The photo book you made for me is beyond amazing. Your thoughtfulness was so moving. We had such a great time going through the photos and seeing what you picked. There was such laughter and storytelling going on as we turned each page. It took us a long time to get through the book as everyone had so many comments and memories to share as we looked at different photos.

My daughters are always telling me that Moo (the cat) is my favorite cat..and I am partial to him. I deny this constantly. I still do despite your providing what they consider “proof” to the contrary! As we turned each page it became a wheres Waldo type game. They were counting the Moo's. Moo is not even my cat..he is one of my daughters cats. He just happens to be more like a dog than a cat. He loves the car..he loves going for walks..and he loves swimming. So..wherever I take my dogs..he comes along. He comes on vacations with us. You can tell I spent much time defending myself as we went through the album!! Of course your pick of Moo on the cover put it all over the top!!! That was extremely funny!

When we came to a page with my Mom on it she nearly fell off the chair. HOW.. did you get a photo of HER!

"Well..it was on Facebook," I explained.

"WHAT? WHY AM I ON FACEBOOK" she asked - in a pretty panicky voice.

Trying to explain how this could be to someone who is not that technically savy… especially after she is on her third glass of champagne, was quite entertaining.

Then a few pages later..there is my dad!!! Somehow she found this comforting which sent us all into fits of laughter again. My pups, Moo, my folks, our Niagara road trip, a walk we took along the ocean during the hurricane, graduation, a trip to New York, aquariums, MY DEER!!!! (Did you know that was the deer that shed his antler? Right after that photo..he bowed his head and left his antler at my feet. SOOO COOL!!! ) – your picks for the album were just absolutely perfect.
