I must start off by thanking you in advance, anyone who's signing up for this exchange is truly going out of their way to make someone else's holiday season more magical! It comes as no shock that during the past 2 years, it comes as no shock that we've all taken a beating, mentally, physically, financially due to COVID-19.

I myself worked for a large tech company and was not really impacted by COVID-19 during the first half of the pandemic. Last Christmas, I signed up for the Reddit secret Santa, sent my gift all happy and excited, only to never receive my gift or a rematch. I guess that should have been a precursor of things to come, because in January, my company decided to start doing layoffs of different divisions, and in March I was out of a job.

I had been looking for work for the last 7 months and being recently engaged to the love of my life, it definitely made life much more difficult. Thankfully my fiancé has been nothing but a rock for me and she's been so understanding throughout all of this.

I finally landed on my feet in October and got an offer for a wonderful company as a Virtual Reality Simulator Product Manager for a huge corporation! I started work on November the 8th.

All this to pretty much sum up who I am, what I've been doin the past year.

I am not much picky, I am so sentimental (my fiancé tells me I should have been born a woman sometimes), that honestly any gift is appreciated, it's a real shame that last year my gift was never sent and that I missed out, especially since this is the last year for Secret Santa!

On a final note, again I would like to extend my appreciation for your having read my block of text, for participating in this year's Secret Santa, and spreading joy to others when you truly did not have to!
