I was very happy when my gifter contacted me to ask about my local pet store and see if I could collect it there. We have some great stores around my area, and collecting the gifts from one of them definitely made more sense than having them shipped for just a few kilometres! I was as excited when going into the pet store tonight as I am when waiting for a parcel. I have to admit, when they handed me the bag with all the gifts, I had to peak in, I couldn't wait to be home and see what my gifter got for my cats!
I am so happy with this selection. There was something for each of my cats, even a very fluffy blanket that will be perfect for my long-term-fostered cat, who we will be very happy to receive this gift when I get to see her in a few months (living abroad).
The others got some toys! We attributed the dangler toy with feathers to little Kerry, since she is obsessed with feathers and would have stolen it from her brother had we decided otherwise anyway. She loooved it. It seems very solid which is good, because she likes to destroy feathers, and rope, and toys in general. Also as a bonus it is a real rope and not elastic, which means less risk for the toy to end up in my face or hers! She likes to play dangerously. The toy is already in her basket, which is a definite sign of adoption.
We started by giving the monkey to Racoon, but he was still jealous because we were playing with Kerry, so we got the ball-pistol out, and it is his new favourite toy! We spent a very long time playing with it in the stairs, until he laid down and refused to move, and it is amazing because for once we didn't have to run up and down the stairs with him to get the ball back every time!! Finally a game where he runs more than we do. We were wondering if he would be scared of the noise, but he loved it even more. He is a very theatrical cat, so we started yelling 'Ready, set, go!' every time we were launching the ball, as if he were running for a race - it gave him even more motivation. Needless to say, we all had so much fun.
We haven't given them the noisy chicken yet, we had another toy like this one but it got stolen and hidden by one of them, so it will be nice to have a replacement!
Merci beaucoup dear gifter, you really spoiled these cats and really made our day :)
Videos (with sound): Kerry purring while playing with her toy and Racoon sprinting up the stairs (good for his cardio) while chasing the ball!
