In an odd turn of events, my giftee was also my Santa! She sent me a butter ruler that doubled as a dough scraper, a tea towel in all Canadian themes, and a maple leaf cookie cutter that did the obvious. When life gives you cookie tools, you damn well make some cookies! Off we went. The butter ruler didn’t entirely come in handy for knowing the length of butter since the packaging had the measurements on it as well, but the scraper part was remarkably helpful in handling the dough and shoveling the cookies off the table after forgetting to use any amount of dusting flour. And while I’m late to sharing pictures and thanks, I delayed so as to bake cookies and document the progress. Unfortunately, I completely forgot to take pictures.
