Baking and history from Groningen!

I am so happy with the hometown gifts I received from Groningen in the Netherlands! I love baking, so my gifter included quite a few things I will use - some cake mix (from what I understood - my Dutch is limited!), some spices from my gifter's personal stash to make some speculaas cookies (apologies if I am butchering the spelling!) and the loveliest wooden moulds to shape them. They also included a few books about the history of the city, with a lot of pictures, so it's really fun to look at them! It's a city I've never been to, so it makes me feel like I am travelling there, which is a very nice feeling :) Also they sent some snacks and tea from the area, so I'm looking forward to trying them!
