My gifter must be a muggle. As no charms worked to remove the the clear sticky strips that were used to bind the gift shut. In the interest of preservation of the newspaper used (clearly a muggle as no wizard would use the historical pages in this way!) I had to resort to digging out my 36 year old "Mickey's Magic Cutter" (see attached) to carefully and painstakingly trim the sticky strips to reveal the contents. And oh my what a treasure trove!
A fine goblet with gorgeous illustrations, delicately painted on, of the magnificent Luna Lovegood with a Luna notebook and pen set. These have some odd picture things that peel off a backing and are coated with a sticky substance that once put on something are near imposing to remove. (The kind of object one would expect to get from Weasley's Wizard Wheezes and not from muggle shops)
A yule tree ornament honouring the brave house-elf, Dobby. As well a monument maker to honour Dobby.
A gorgeous Hogwarts folder containing notebooks snd stationery for the new school year.
A bag of Leprechaun Gold that turns into chocolate instead of disappearing. Brilliant idea.
And then last but not least a picture of Hogwarts Castle that has some strange muggle invention that enables it to stick to metal. Very curious indeed.
