I won't hesitate to admit that I'm a Star Trek geek. I mentioned that in my profile, and my Secret Santa ran with it! She sent me the Star Trek cookbook (which has been on my wish list since I learned of its existence) and an "Energize" mug.
I'm really excited to crack open that cookbook and try some of the recipes (even if my kids aren't even remotely interested in imitation Vulcan plomeek soup, Bajoran hasperat, or Klingon gagh).
I don't drink coffee or tea, but my step-mom recently sent me a big bag of her homemade chocolate chip cookies, which are delicious but turn hard as rocks after a day or two, and at that point they're only good dunked in milk. Now I have a new mug for cookie-dunking!
The best part--as silly as it may seem--was the wrapping paper: Worf in a Santa hat! I'd never seen that before, and it had me laughing out loud when I opened the package this evening, allowing me to momentarily forget the migraine that had been bothering me most of the afternoon.
Thank you, Santa, for allowing me to indulge in my geeky interests!
