so i work as a 911 dispatcher and today was awful. not for any reason or call but we all know what it’s like to be at the office ready to leave and your busy and just woke up two hours before your alarm slept 30 mins after fighting to go to bed and still clock in? well it was that day some would say a pouty 5 year old i would say a dispatcher who gets undermined and overworked. so i come home to a mystery package and im like great did i black out and buy something and to my surprise no. a thoughtful kind gift after a wait and me forgetting this happened. i appreciate it and can’t wait to go to bed in 1hour 😂. hear me out if you made it this far. cops are great if they do the job and follow the law. but the people everyone forgets about is the first person who took the call and figured out how to help in the first place. yes they have the cool cars and sirens and outfits. while we sit in a dark room making sure everyone in our designated area has the best chance at living and seeing the end of our shift. we care and may never be appreciated for it but we listen we see we have your answers and your hands while you call during your emergency. sometimes think beyond the officer and thank his team that got him there. it means a lot just like todays message. it was the encouragement i needed after feeling defeated.
