I love to read non-fiction books, so I was very excited to receive a copy of the bestseller “Der Jahrhundert Coup” with a personal recommendation from my Secret Santa. The book summarizes the robbery of the Saxon state treasure (The stolen jewelry had an insurance value of over one hundred million euros!) from the Green Vault in Dresden. I’ve noticed the book in the display of my local bookstore, but I haven’t had time to pick it up yet. This is the perfect book to read during my winter vacation!
Included in my Christmas present was a “Guest Artist Edition” of Munchkin with illustrations from Ian McGinty. A lot of people have recommended this game, but I haven’t had the opportunity to play it yet. The cards are hilarious with adorable illustrations and the game rules are easy to understand - I’m stoked to organize a game night with my friends and give it a try.
Because I’m traveling a lot, I asked my Secret Santa for a useful gift that I could take with me. My Secret Santa got me an excellent present: A Multi-Tool in the size of a credit card, which fits perfectly into my wallet. Included in the twenty different tools are multiple screwdrivers, a can opener, a bottle opener, both inch and centimeter rulers, a box opener, and a knife edge. The Multi-Tool has now found a permanent spot in my wallet.
My favorite kind of presents are handmade gifts and my Secret Santa sent me a set of little house figurines. According to the letter included in the present, the little houses were handmade by the Secret Santa’s students which makes them extra special to me! They now take pride of place on my windowsill and look very whimsical in the warm candlelight.
Dear Secret Santa, thank you very much for the amazing Christmas gifts. I wish you happy holidays and a joyful New Year!
