Happy Book Day Indeed! Speechless!

This is my third update, as my Book Givin Santa has me feeling all sorts of book love. Scroll below to see the bookmarks and books from the first package (including a book signed to me from the author), and a second post showing the amazing book journal that was sent. Today's package included a beautiful note and the book Slade House by David Mitchell. I love and appreciate all of the thought behind each gift, and my reading heart is overflowing at the upcoming reading time.

Good gracious, I'm sitting here covered in happy tears. Book people are a special people, and the connection made with this exchange brings all the joy. Book themed wedding connections - yes! A spoiler alert, and then a countdown - I was left speechless. Then I got down to the task of opening each gift. I'd spend so much time gushing, that I wasn't sure I'd make it all the way through. It started with the bookmarks. They are divine. I love that included was a piece of Germany, where my gift was sent from (all the way over to Michigan). First up, a wishlist book, The Lost Girls of Willowbrook. I'm hoping my Santa gets to read this one as well. Then opened was Seven Kinds of People You Find in Bookshops. I've seen this so many times at our favorite bookshops but never brought it home. I'm excited to see if I find a bit of myself in this one. Number 3 - The Bookshop Book - signed for me! I cannot wait to dive into this one. I finally reached back around to the letter, most beautifully written, incredibly thoughtful, the surprises and the spoilers. All of this along with a note that there is more to come. Santa, you've truly left me speechless. If somebody's looking for me and can't find me, it's because I'm buried in these beautiful books.

But wait! There's more! Today I stumbled across a list of best book journals. My goal this year is to be better at keeping track of what I'm reading. There was one on the list that I really liked, that I almost ordered. Cue today, when an unexpected package arrived. A beautiful gift bag, a wonderful note, amd tucked inside was the very journal I had been checking out earlier in the day. My husband and I are so excited to start filling this up with our current reads. Thank you, thank you! From both of us.
