Weekend being over I was certain that my Hometown Exchange gift would arrive today. And indeed there was a big, heavy envelop in my pigeon-hole :) With a big smile on my face and a big anticipation I walked back to my desk. And wow, did my Santa deliver!

This envelop contained the best of Rome without actually being there.

A very nice fridge magnet. My first one actually, and the cool thing is that I've visited all the places on it!

A fantastic bag from Santa's university! It looks extremely convenient and I'm sure I'll use it to work or on small hikes.

An Italian cookbook, and just looking through it I just felt like cooking everything. There are so many very nice, very basic recipes in there. I'm especially curious about the breads, preserves and oils. The book looks very beautiful as well. Santa also added a bag of yeast to get me started on making bread!

And a book about the hidden history of Italy, combining history, archaeology and geology. This is exactly the kind of book I know I will enjoy reading. Reading will be a bit slow but I'll manage :)

I'd told my Santa that I'd be very happy about a local cookbook, and that I'm able to read cooking instructions in many languages. Santa asked for clarification and if I was able to read an actual book. Thinking about it for a while I told her in what languages I would be able to. Italian was amongst them. So yes, I got a wonderful cookbook, and a wonderful factual book to read :)

I told Santa I had an idea where she might be from. And I got it completely wrong. I thought I'd noticed a little something about how many Danish people write English. So ok, I really got his wrong. But this made this gift exchange even more interesting.

Thanks a lot Santa! I'm very happy indeed with what you've chose. 11/10. <3
