Wow, this exchange will be difficult to top, really.

I am a beginning cook, but a very international foody. No cookbooks yet. So I'm surprised that my Santa was not completely confused about my rambling, very meandering description. I just didn't know myself what the ideal cookbook is for me.

My giftee had some very special cookbook wishes, and so I started looking for a great gift. While doing so I stumbled upon some cookbooks that really looked interesting to me, and I added them to an Amazon wishlist. They all had some things in common: fairly simple, relatively few ingredients, no special tools needed, very international and measurements in grams and not cups :D

So I added this list to my account, and my Santa decided to chose from this list.

The first book (yes, it's two!) is about Palestinian cooking. I'm an extremely ecstatic about this book, having lived in the Middle East before and knowing many of the dishes and most ingredients. Hey, most ingredients are in my kitchen already.

The second book arrived today: Georgian cuisine! I added this book to the list because Georgia is one of those countries I'd really love to visit, and because I read it's a mixture of Russian, Iranian or Central Asian and Mediterranean cooking. And it is, and the food looks absolutely delicious! I can't wait to get cooking.

Thanks a lot dear Santa. Thanks you, thank you, thank you! This really is the best gift ever. 10/10!
