As my boyfriend was heading out the door this morning he noticed a package leaning up against our apartment door: it was my Secret Santa gift! I didn't expect that it would arrive so soon! And it is remarkably flat, being sent in a prepaid envelope... I open it in excitement and am puzzled and excited by what I find there: a small box, a looseleaf page, and a gray duo-tang. On further examination:

Just when I've been feeling my most board game deprived ever (I long for the free time to host board game nights with regularity... and have been hoping to do so in the new year) my Secret Santa delivers with an awesome new game HYPERtheticals that I've not only never heard of, but think the concept is uber cool! The cards have such interesting descriptions on them that I can't help but be intrigued and I haven't even played it yet!

The package came with a note (which I also include) along with a grey duotang which includes a story that my Secret Santa has WRITTEN! As a sometimes writer myself (though I guess I've only had a few scattered poems published, the majority of my writing being of the academic sense as of late) I really look forward to reading the story -- perfect as I just finished reading a book and the holidays should hypothetically give me some time to read.

This gift was a total surprise to me -- I really didn't know what to expect: I'm a mild bit addicted to reading the awards that different gifts receive and not only did I receive my gift two days after it was mailed, but it's pretty appropriate! Thank you so much Secret Santa! I look forward to putting together my next gifts for rematch and future exchanges! Such fun!
