My bad for not posting this eariler, got caught up in Christmas Vacation.
My Santa really knocked it out of the park, their gift included a plethora of fun things. There was a Kakuno pen, which I've never tried, but I always love me a demonstrator. There was also some Writer's Blood ink I've had my eye on. The inclusion of the Field Notes was a twofold nice touch. First of all, I've never used them but I've always been curious. I didn't even mention that in my signup info, so they guessed really well! Also, they purposely sent me one whose cover was relevant to where I live. Very thoghtful.
I've saved the best for last though. They included a whole bag of samples of inks from their own personal colleciton. This might be the single best way for a fountain pen user to get to know another, and it's quite generous of them. I love sample packs, and this is the best there is. This is the gold standard for this kind of exchange, I might have to copy them in the future.
The final nice touch was the handwritten note they sent, labeled with pen and ink of course.
The only downside to this gift is it makes me feel bad about not being as good as they are, but it shows me how I can do better in the future.
